Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Conference
May 6 @ 10:00 am - May 8 @ 2:00 pm
FreeEquity from the Start: Interdependent Self & Community Care
We will explore how ECEC collaborations can cultivate systems that honor both self and community care, ensuring that those working toward change are not only advocating for equity but also experiencing it in their daily lives. By fostering sustainable practices, we strengthen our ability to stay engaged in the work for the long haul, preventing burnout and reinforcing the relationships that sustain meaningful change.
Our goal is for audience to leave with renewed energy, deeper connections, and actionable strategies for integrating self and community care into their equity efforts. Together, we can create a foundation for lasting, transformative change in early childhood systems.
The conference is free and virtual. Register Here
In past conferences, we have centered racial equity as a core value in community systems development, emphasizing the importance of shifting power to those most impacted by the early childhood education and care (ECEC) system—parents, families, direct service providers, and community members. We explored barriers to equity and opportunities for transformative change.
This year, we turn our focus to the interdependence of self and community care as essential components of sustainable systems change. True equity work requires a balance between personal well-being and collective action. When individuals are supported, they can better contribute to the strength of their communities. Likewise, when communities prioritize care, they create environments where individuals can thrive.
